Midcentury Modern Landscape

Front Yard Landscape Design Project in Atlanta, GA

Located in Atlanta’s Morningside neighborhood, this project was designed to complement the clean, timeless lines of a classic midcentury modern home. The front yard features a minimalist design that balances simplicity with structure, using bold geometric elements and carefully selected materials.

Symmetrical concrete panel paths are set against white gravel accents, creating a striking linear aesthetic. Geometric planting beds filled with drought-tolerant, minimalist plantings provide visual structure while maintaining a low-maintenance, modern feel. These plantings enhance the home’s architectural lines, reinforcing the midcentury style.

A custom linear wood screen runs parallel to the house, serving as both a private space enclosure and a striking architectural accent. This feature not only frames the home but also creates a secluded outdoor area, blending functionality with design.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful garden design and hardscaping can bring out the best in a midcentury modern home, creating a front yard that is both understated and timeless. By blending symmetry, minimalist plantings, and structural elements, we created a space that enhances the home’s architectural character while providing a welcoming outdoor retreat.
